About Me:
I've recently relocated from the U.S. to the UK and will start to explore London and get over to Budapest too. I want to learn more about my Hungarian heritage and send Hungarian reminders back to my elderly mother still in the States.
My British-Hungarian story:
My parents are Hungarian and fled Budapest during the 56 Revolution and eventually made it to Cleveland, OH. I've been back to Hungary once (1978) but will be planning to make more trips now that I'm closer. My father is dead now, but contributed to the Revolution, was jailed, fled, met my mother in a refugee camp in Yugoslavia and 2 years later the US accepted them as he was a Doctor.
What I want from this site:
Networking with other Hungarian-loving people.

Hi Steve
I have no Hungarian ancestry but love the country (have been twice 1990 and 1991) its culture, people, music. Would love to go again soon.
As a musician my two trips were representing Britain at an international folk festival and the Viragkarneval in Debrecen on the saint's day celebrations.
Would love to get some Hungarian bagpipes.
Mike.
