- I am a journalist, born in Budapest, a former child refugee from 1956. My parents were well-known in Hungary: father is writer/journalist Peter Halasz, mother was singer Vali Racz. I have two grown-up sons and live in London with my partner Nick Winton, son of Sir Nicholas Winton.

- My British-Hungarian story:
- I grew up in New York but have been living in London since my teenage years. I have written a fair amount about my Hungarian background and roots, both articles and books. (Most recently my book about Hungary in the 1980s, The Paper Bridge, has been expanded and re-issued.)
- What I want from this site:
- Perhaps to make contact with those of a similar background and attend interesting events.
